I understand that I am asking Swinburne University of Technology to store a copy of my research outputs and make them permanently available online to the public for free.

I warrant that where my material deposited into Swinburne Research Bank includes third party content, that content has been properly acknowledged and all rights necessary for deposit have been obtained.

Where your material is covered by an agreement with a publisher or other third party

I understand that a licence will be required to deposit material that I do not own. If I do not hold a licence to deposit I agree to Swinburne staff obtaining a licence to deposit on my behalf.

Which versions of my publications can be deposited into Swinburne Research Bank?

We have found that most authors prefer to deposit the official published version of journals articles, conference papers etc in Swinburne Research Bank but many publishers do not allow published versions to be made available.

If the publisher has refused permission for the published version, we may be able to include the author's final draft. We will then contact you to see if one is available.

  • Author's final draft: (Postprint / Accepted version / Accepted manuscript)
    • This is the version accepted for publication, after peer review and including any revisions.
    • It is the Word or PDF produced by the author and not the copy-edited and formatted published PDF produced by the publisher.
    • The content will generally be the same as the published version, but may differ from the final published PDF (which includes the publisher's logo, copy-editing and formatting).
  • Published version: (Version of record)
    • This is the final published PDF version, which may include the publisher's logo and unique formatting.
