- Abstract
- Australia's universities have developed a highly successful export industry that generates essential revenue for our universities as well as the economy. It is an industry built around international students. Many of these students seek permanent residency in Australia. Many more would opt to study here if they had reason to believe migration would be an option on graduation. We know Australia is facing a serious skills shortage. An enhanced migration program is one solution to this critical problem that the federal Government is investigating.
