- Abstract
- This paper introduces the subject of women in management. Minority groups in most societies are subjected to differing degrees of institutionalised prejudices. The group that has had the largest media coverage in the last two decades have been our 'better halves' the women. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the status of women in the workforce, to understand the reasons for the obstacles and barriers to their advancement, particularly in management. The paper also considers ways of breaking down these barriers and obstacles and creating an environment for equal progress among the sexes.
