- Abstract
- The purpose of studying the various aspects and practices of the training systems in different industry categories is initially to have an overview of the current emphasis of training, its needs and support within organisations in Australia. This has not been done to date. This is an exploratory study and it should provide future researchers with some understanding of the multitude of influences upon the training system and perhaps also the importance of formalising training as a useful function within the organisational system. The emphasis of this research is on the study of the relationship between the training systems effectiveness criteria and the structural variable, industry type. The training system criteria are the measures of the functional aspects of the training system as perceived by the respondents in the survey.
