Abstract: A literary criticism of the book "Difesa della luna e altri argomenti di miseria terrestre," by Guido Ceronetti is presented. It says that the book consists of eight essays, connected to each other by satirical poetic interludes. It outlines the book's preface and five essays in the first part, in which one of the essays deal with the poem "Canto notturno di un pastore errante dell'Asia," by Giacomo Leopardi. It explores Ceronetti's analysis of the scriptures from lay person's point of view.
