- Abstract
- The aging of Australia’s population over the next 40 years is going to put pressure on the Australian government to fund the lifestyles of the nation’s retirees. Current research shows that the current arrangements that are in place will not be sufficient to maintain an adequate standard of living in retirement. A specially designed online questionnaire was developed to gain an understanding of the attitudes and perceptions of Australians towards superannuation and retirement planning. The aim was to develop some strategies and recommendations for change for the government and the superannuation industry to implement to ensure Australians will have sufficient retirement savings by the time the retire.
