- Author(s)
- Given, Jock
- Abstract
- The Government has decided it wants to do the double. It is going to try to change the rules on media ownership in Australia, and those on introducing digital TV and shutting down analogue. A draft plan will be published early next year. The Government hopes it will ensure Australians 'continue to fully benefit from a robust and free media and the emerging opportunities and challenges of digital'. This much is welcome. It makes no sense to try to deal with these two issues in isolation. But what will be in the plan? [Introduction]
