- Title
- Rethinking digital TV: scrambled signal: broadcasters' opportunity knocked
- Author(s)
- Given, Jock; Dodd, Andrew
- Abstract
- The core of the Government's decision about digital TV was settled two years ago. The game was always primarily about control of valuable VHF and UHF spectrum. The commercial and national broadcasters---Nine, Seven, Ten, the ABC and the SBS---wanted a new 'channel' to introduce digital services alongside their analog transmissions. They got it, they've still got it, and they don't have to pay any more for it.
