- Abstract
- Have you ever aspired to the role of Director, International in an Australian higher education or VET provider? Have you ever wanted to understand a little more about what the role might involve before you applied for the job? Do you think it looks like it could be for you? Then you will be interested in what three relatively new Directors, International have to say about their expectations of the positions they now hold and how those expectations were (or were not) realised in the first few years in three different Australian universities. In addition to recounting their personal experiences, which are always influenced by the unique cultures of the different institutions, Liz (1 year), Jeffrey (2 years) and Brett (3 years), will also provide you with a set of tools and helpful hints to assist you in your journey from first thinking about it to celebrating your first anniversary in the role.
